Frequently Asked Questions
I like a painting I have seen on this site but it is on a box canvas. Can this be framed?
Most of our box canvas paintings come ready strung so they can be hung as soon as they arrive but some homes are more suited to a more traditional look. All box canvas pieces can be framed. I have even made my own frame for a more rustic look.

I would really like a painting of Roseberry Topping. Can you help me?
Roseberry Topping is such a popular view for a painting and the site gets more enquiries about it than any other subject. We can paint any view of Roseberry. If you have a favourite photo then let us have a look and we can give you a price for a large canvas or small framed painting. The largest size we do at the moment is 30 x 40 inches. Please get in touch via our contact button

How can I be sure my painting will look as good as it does on the website?
Many people confidently purchase art online. Here at Yarm Originals we try our very best to give a true reflection of the piece of art you are buying. The colours on monitors vary from one computer to another but we aim to get our photographs as close to the real thing as possible.

What if I see something I like but find it has been sold?
Although we don't want to do a direct copy of a painting we are always willing to discuss something similar. Either larger or smaller and maybe in a different colour. We are in contact with several artists willing to take a commission so if you are looking for something in particular then please use the contact button to get in touch

How do I go about choosing a piece of art as a gift?
A piece of art is a very personal thing so if you want to buy one as a gift for someone you need to keep saying it's not for you and think more about the person it is for. What do they like? What colours do they have in their home? Which room do you see this painting in? Even think about light fittings and door handles. You don't want to choose something in a gold frame if all their furnishings are silver. If in doubt about a frame why not choose a box canvas and let the new owners decide whether to have it framed or hang it as it is.

I really want to give a painting as a gift but I just can't choose one
If you really are stuck then why not buy a gift voucher? We offer this facility in multiples of five pounds. You simply pay the amount you want to pay and we will mail you a gift voucher for that amount. The voucher will be valid for 3 months from the date of purchase.

What if I am not satisfied with my purchase?
Although this shouldn't happen because we try to show you exactly what you are buying there may be an occasion when you are not happy with your purchase. Yarm Originals offer a full money back guarantee if the piece is returned to us within 14 days of purchase. Postal costs will not be refunded and the returnee must pay the return postal charges themselves. Returns must be sent back well packaged and in the same condition in which they were received. Refunds will only be made on receipt of the returned goods.

What is your favourite subject and why?
Something which isn't planned and just happens. In everyday life I am a very structured person. In my art something else takes over and
the results quite often surprise me. Those pieces are my favourites.

How would you define Art?
A reflection of the world we live in. If it brings about an emotion or reaction then it has done its job.
